Even though I can't stand it (one reason is because it is so captivating) I do like some television shows. Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends, Mr. Show with Bob and David, Upright Citizens Brigade, The State, Kids in the Hall, That Seventies Show, Family Guy, and Futurama. Flight of the Conchords. Sadly, many of these shows cannot be found anywhere on the airwaves.
There are so many to choose from. Anything by Dostoevsky, Homer, C.S.
