Rainbird Studios

We're so underground, we're in the basement!

About Me

Rainbird Studio was created out of necessity. As Bluefire, we needed to record a demo to promote the band. Since none of us were particularly wealthy, we decided to record it ourselves. We had a couple of 4 track recorders between us and a huge determination to maintain complete control over our music so we set out on our first recording project. After a few weeks of screwing around, we had in our grubby little hands our first ever demo tape. Some of us had been involved in recording demos in other bands, but this was ours and ours alone. The excitement of producing a distributable recording our our music was almost as heavy as being on stage. It was then that I decided that I would like to set up a studio for kids in garage/basement bands who had tons of heart and determination but lacked the finances to have a decent demo made to push their band. I give a lot more credit to those who scrimp and save and sacrifice for their love of music than to those who are handed whatever they need. I was surrounded by people who were in bands that were very popular because they had the best equipment, training, and everything where as me and my friends were learning to play and writing on equipment that was hardly functional much less decent sounding. Its easier to reach your gig when your van doesnt have to constantly be towed in for repair. So thats why I started to read about recording techniques and buying equipment and experimenting with the demos we were making for our band. And after a while the demos started to sound better, more professional. I have completed seven projects at the studio over the past few years and have learned from each one. Even now I am upgrading the entire format of the studio to start recording digitally. No more tape drop, or miscuing. I am learning more about recording software and experimenting with a recording project for my band Spendthrift Sai.
