I've thought about this part of my page for a long time and I don't think that I'll ever be totally satisfied with what I put here. For now, I guess I'll just have to say what I feel... I'm a very diverse person. I'm constantly changing, yet I'm still unmistakably "ME". If you knew me a few years ago... please don't expect me to be the same person I was then. Some of the "good" aspects of my personality are the same, but my lifestyle has come a long way from what it used to be... it's almost hard to believe that I used to live the life I had even 6-7 years ago. Amazing things can happen when you hit rock bottom and you can't sink any lower... I chose to make a better life for myself and my family. I've worked hard and I have more now in so many ways than I could've ever DREAMED OF back then. I suppose I haven't changed much in the past 2-3 years, now I'm always TWEAKING and refining (redefining) who I AM... something that's totally necessary if you are going to be the best you can be.I don't exactly have conventional interests- for instance, I love the whole Gothic lifestyle. Dark clothes, pale skin, macabre accessories. It's not for many, but definitely for me. In addition to that, I always appreciate good body art.I welcome old friends from the past to contact me... New ones too (especially I.C.C. members). I'm always looking for new people to hang out with... let's get together sometime! Finally, the last thing I want to mention is how you say my name... I know it "looks" like it should be pronounced "Mee-ah" or "Mia"... but I assure you, it's not. It's said like "May-Ahh". I have lots of friends who still say it incorrectly- and I'm not going to give you a hard time about it (hell, I still have many relatives who just can't get it right) but I wanted to take the time here to set the record straight.

My Interests

I love cars. That's the biggest thing... I love fast cars, LOUD cars, sexy cars, cars that people have put their soul into... brand doesn't matter, although I have a few personal favorites. The "effort" some choose to put into their vehicles to make (and keep) them nice means just as much as anything to me... I love Sport Cars, Muscle Cars, Exotic Cars, Hot Rods, "Rat" Rods, Mini Trucks, Fat-Fendered Trucks, Road Rally Cars, etc.Right now, I belong to a great car club -The Illinois Camaro Club- Currently, we have around 200 members... with no "attitudes"... the guy (or gal) that has thousands invested in his engine is is treated the same as the guy who has a "Plain Jane", unmodified, bone "stock", daily driver... Our club is just as much about preservation as it is about modification. If you don't like that... then you don't have to be a part of it. Many of our members do have some VERY nice cars though... and I'm proud to be a part of something so special.Right now, I own three Camaros (2 Z28's, and 1 RS) out of 7 that I've owned in my life. I say "right now" because that number is usually changing, although it may not change for awhile now since I am actually trying to commit myself to what I have at the moment. In addition to my three babies, I also own a '78 Buick with an LT1 that's my long term project, a slammed '96 S-10 that's basically just my all-around runner (I've had it the longest), and my current favorite- a Dodge Magnum R/T that is one of the coolest cars that I've ever seen... and it's perfect for my kids. A family car with the "heart" of a Muscle Car fits my lifestyle perfectly:)My next biggest interests are my garden and birdwatching.I love flowers and I love to grow them, especially exotic and unusual plants.I have a growing interest in birding. The more I learn about birds, the more interested I am. I'm amazed at all the birds I never knew were around me- because I never knew what to look for. I enjoy hiking, fishing, canoeing, and most other kinds of nature activities too. I also love animals... they are a big part of my life. Right now I have 2 dogs and many cats as well as a pet turtle.

I'd like to meet:

I would just like to meet someone (guy or girl) who shares my interests and is actually a RESPONSIBLE person. It seems as if there's a very limited supply of decent people anymore. I've been the bad girl... and it didn't get me anywhere... so now my main focus is doing what I need to do to be successful in life. I've worked hard to get where I am today... and I plan on continuing this trend for the future, so I don't need anybody that is going to drag me down. I would like to meet anyone who shares this similar goal.I'd also just like to meet people who want to hang-out and have a good time... (If it's possible) I probably spend TOO much time with my family... sometimes I'd just like to get out and have some time with my friends... I'm always so concerned with being a good mom that sometimes I feel like I've really neglected myself and my own needs. And finally, for those of you who have been my TRUE friends (you know who you are)...I'd just like to say, I LOVE YOU and appreciate you!

Music:

I like very hard rock music, I don't even know the proper term: Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, Old Skool Metal... whatever. Bands like Stone Sour, Disturbed, Firewind, Iced Earth, Kilgore, Pantera, C.O.C., Buck Cherry, Soil, Fuel, Saliva, Black Label Society, Shinedown, Hinder, Testament, Dream Theater, Shadows Fall, Tool, Type O-, Brand New Sin, and especially Marilyn Manson. Sacred Dawn is my favorite local band... and I also consider them friends. If I'm in a happy mood, I also like to listen to 80's "hair" bands (both Rock and Metal) along with "Progressive" Metal.

Movies:

I like Horror (of course) and SciFi movies, but I really hate most of the cheap B-movies my cable provider tries to pass off OnDemand. Favorites of mine include the X-men movies, Hell Boy, Pirates of the Caribbean movies, From Hell, The Village, Nightmare Before Christmas, Strangeland, Van Helsing, What Dreams May Come, etc. My latest favorites are The Illusionist and The Prestige (big Hugh Jackman fan here!!!) The Notebook also has a special place in my heart.. that's a great love story:-) I am also REALLY excited about the TRANSFORMERS movie!!! (How awesome is it that there are two versions of my favorite car in it?!)

Television:

I like the dramas Nip/Tuck, DIRT, The Riches, and HOUSE. For my late nights I enjoy MASH and Forensic Files. I also like the show King of Queens... that show always makes me laugh!

Books:

Right now I'm reading the second of three books a friend loaned to me that are written by Terry Pratchett.

Heroes:

I don't exactly have anyone that I would define as a "hero". The only person that even comes close would be Josey Scott... I think he and I are very much alike. Other than that, I would have to say Bettie Page... she was a classic beauty. I have a whole collection of Bettie Page stuff.
