I go by many names... Pat, Patrick, Paddy, Padwan, Padreig, Padoodle, Fatpat, Housewife Paddy, and sometimes plain old 'Oi, prick!'. I've just started at Essex Uni studying for a Masters in Marine Biology, combining my passion for diving with my love of everything animalesque. I did my BSc (hons) at Nottingham Uni in Zoology, where I met some pretty amazing people, from housemates, to neighbours to people off my course. I'm not going to name you all, but you know who you are. As im on the friends thing its probably a good time to mention the rest of them, those that i grew up with and have known from nursery through to 6th form, and my higham boys, Jamie and David. Lets not forget the 'free spirit' people who haven't actually worked there in years: steve, gav, jay (who never ever worked there, but lets not split hairs!),dan, doug, rob roy and last not but least Gem, who we all know and love thanks to steve! I love scuba diving, whether its uk waters or slightly warmer places. I've been lucky enough to spend a couple of months in Indonesia, diving off an island in the middle of nowhere, and also get a 2 month position as an RA on australia's lizard island. I've also managed to work for the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency, on their BioMap project run by one of my old lecturers. I'll hopefully be getting a paper published out of that very soon (The economic impact of pollinator declines on Egyptian agriculture, look out for it, its gonna be huge!). Apart from all that I love films, music and generally relaxing with friends. I prefer a chilled life n go out of my way to keep it like that.
