About Me
Flatline Drive:
We are three guys from Reddich in England; Jon Holmes, born in April 1989, plays Guitar and sings in the band. Roy Coles, born in December 1988, plays Bass and is the backing singer of the band. Dave Collins, born in March 1990, plays Drums in the band.
Each song is created differently, the lyrics and music are sometimes written by different members or as a band, seperately, over msn or together. All the songs, recordings and practices are done in Jon's garage (The Garage) its small...theres no room to breathe, in winter its freezing and in summer it is absolutely boiling! Alot of our equipment is cheap, second hand or home made and we have had no proffessional training except Dave has had some drum lessons...Thats Flatline Drive in a nutshell...or at least a nutshell might have more room than The Garage. We are a serious band with various influences but like to make it fun for ourselves at the same time.
The music is influenced by a number of styles as each member have there own personal taste including Punk, Metal, Grunge, New Wave, Indie, Classic Rock, Pop Rock, Ska, Comedy, Alternative and Experimental.
History:
Flatline Drive was formed in June 2006, 2 members Jon Holmes and Roy Coles were the origional line up of a band called The Federal which was formed in late 2004 before they even learned how to play their instruments, unfortunately the drummer never picked up the drums very well so this caused many problems for the growth of the band.
Flatline Drive was formed by Jon Holmes and Chris Traves in June in an attempt to create a "proper band", Chris invited Dave Collins to be the drummer as he could actually play and after a couple of months, Roy asked to join as the bass player and it was agreed that Flatline Drive would take over from The Federal...which was nicer than telling the former drummer to leave. Chris in September 2006 decided to quit the band after trying it out.
Now Flatline Drive is once again a 3 piece band who are writing and recording songs and learning from the previous mistakes made in The Federal. Songs that have been recorded include "Out Of Time (Long Hair, Bad Snare)" which is about The Federal, "Room O' Restriction" origionally written by Jon to make fun of Chris but ironically it relates to Jon now. The songs "The Schlong Song" and "Your Computer Is Shit" show the bands bizarre humour and that Flatline Drive is not trying to be something it's not.

We would like to thank all our friends and familys for support, and anyone who actually does like what we do. Special thanks to Steph Holmes for use of her drum kit, Chris Traves and Dani for inspiration and photos, and Jon's parents for letting us practice.
And a special fuck you to the complaining dick who lives at 36! HAHA
