"too many great songs, not enough time"

About Me

Been singing forever it seems. The live recordings are with my long time friend Alan McPike recorded a few years ago now. These days I'm singing with Brass Impact,a great new scottish big band along with my wee brother Iain Ewing and lovin' it.( further sound bites and photos can be found at their own website ...check the link.) So many fabulous songs out there to sing and not enough time.I love singing jazz standards! Something to get your teeth into. Something to stir the soul. Classic and absolutely timeless they will always survive! It's great flitting around cyberspace listening and talking to people I would never have had the chance to meet. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxMay 2008 Just back from the Derry Jazz Festival with Brass Impact where we had a ball! Thank you to all the wonderful people who made us feel so welcome. Hope we'll see you next year!------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------August 2008 Just back from France where I had the MOST wonderful time at Loire Music's Jazz Vocal Workshop. What a week that was.....studying with Anita Wardell and Angela Ashmore Elliot has been inspirational and uplifting in ways I could not have imagined.Having been absolutely terrified of doing it at all and never having done anything like it before, it was a step into the unknown. I found that their warmth, patience and insights into all aspects of performance went way above the call of duty on many occasions. Tristan,Joe,Rob,Barry and Marie were wonderful to sing with.Thank you all. If you want to sing jazz at all I would highly recommend this course. It not only gives you confidence try new things but you come home with a cracking bunch of new friends who all have common aims and goals. Singing "Ye Canny shove yer granny aff a bus" in 5 part harmony at 3 am in the garden will stay with me forever!!!!!

Dream Angus

Hi All, Dream Angus is a bit of self indulgence on my part and a desire to record things I did many years ago. I learned this when very young. I even sang it in scots Gaelic at one point. My son fell ...
