MyGen Profile GeneratorSelling Mary began in January of 2000 originally under the name Aberration in the backwoods of Bugtussle, Alabama in the basement of a church. Four upstanding gentlemen, Adam Callaway, Todd Willoughby, Peter Tubbs and Nick Mitchell, decided to form a kick ass hard rock band despite the fact they all lived in a land dominated by country music stations. Selling Mary began in January of 2000 originally in the backwoods of Bugtussle, Alabama in the basement of a church.Three upstanding young gentlemen, Adam Callaway, Todd Willoughby and Peter Tubbs, decided to form a band aftermeeting years before at a local marching band clinic. The group began paying their dues and quickly established asmall but loyal following. At the end of 2004 the band picked up Clay Gaddis, a talented guitarist from Meridian, Mississippi and then in 2006the band added seasoned bassist, Aaron Brook, to the fray. The group has had substantial success in the Alabama music scene and much of the southeast U.S. including occupyinga prime-time spot on the Homegrown Stage of City Stages Festival 2006, The City Stages' Miller Lite Stage in 2007 withPoison and Ratt, opening for Korn and Hell Yeah at the Verizon Wireless Music Center, Flyleaf, 12 Stones and Rehab atZydeco and several more. Selling Mary has had extensive experience in the recording studio after producing overthree albums as well as having several songs played on local and Internet radio stations over the years. One can expect a diverse and interesting sound from Selling Mary. The band pulls from many genres to create a uniquemix of classic rock, jazz, metal, funk crossed with a definite southern swagger. When you come to a Selling Mary show,you can expect a top-notch performance and a killer time with a band that lives to rock.

Influences: Pride & Glory, Deftones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tool, The Mars Volta, The Refused, Alice in Chains, Everytime I Die, Led Zeppelin, Hopesfall, Metallica, Bjork, Stone Temple Pilots, Lamb of God, Blackfoot, Sound Garden, Pantera, Early 90's alternative, 70's classic and southern rock, 80's heavy metal, modern hardcore, metal in general, and occasionally emo. Oh, and also beer.
Sounds Like: A bus load of crazy people crashing into a black powder factory right next to an ongoing Mardi Gras parade complete with floats of Barbara Streisand and Circus perforners juggling midgets and or chainsaws...........ON WEED!!!!!!
