the fifth element - a cult one, really... anchorman, hehe..some of the USSR-time movies - a lot gentler, kinder and deeper than contemp, some good acting too! La Haine - french social snapshot.

Television:

crime series requiring some brainwork and involving social issues (law & order etc).. red dwarf (recently sucked in), futurama
