Egemen Sanli

A modern dervish traveling to find his own voice within world music, Egemen carries an incredible passion for music of all varieties and is keenly interested in exploring the roots of music while carrying the flag of his Turkish roots as a musician. Utilizing techniques from a myriad of musical genres and styles and collaborating with musicians from all over the world, he creates sophisticated, interesting fusions.Egemen is a musical renaissance man and a stringed-instrument maestro, equally comfortable playing folk and classical tunes on his Indian Sitar, Turkish Saz, or Ney, or playing blues- and rock-influenced compositions on his electric guitar and harmonica. He is a master of musical effects, running all of his string instruments through his effects board to create unique, exciting sounds. Currently, he plays with his percussionist brother Kivo around New York City.
