The Gondoliers

About Me

Though one would have trouble believing it after a good listening, the Godoliers formed in 2006 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Their first record sounds a lot like that long lost LP from the mid-60’s that you had the good fortune of stumbling upon at your neighbor’s yard sale. Aiming straight for the gut, the Gondoliers bash out good ole-fashioned garage rock rooted in the raw simplicity of the Troggs and the Pretty Things. The quartet displays exceptional tact and restraint for having only been playing together a couple years, keeping their songs immediate and fresh, not stale and rehashed. The Gondoliers will be opening for the Black Lips in their hometown of Chapel Hill on the Zig-Zag Live Fall Tour.Andrew Lutwin, Zig Zag Live
