About Me

James Justice has been playing the trumpet for over a decade, since joining The Hudson Middle School Jazz Band, under the direction of Mr.John Keon. While James plays a variety of musical styles, he is in greatest demand for his commanding upper register and stylistic lead playing. As a student at The University of North Florida in Jacksonville, James held the Lead trumpet position in UNF's Jazz Ensemble One in addition to assisting and coordinating the Great American Jazz series. James has performed with the Northend Jazz Ensemble, Lakeland Jazz Ensemble, The Seebring Jazz Ensemble and the River City Jazz Ensemble. In 2004-2005 James performed for Disney in the Magic Kingdom, Serving in a lead and solo capacity in addition to holding the position of student leader. Following his work for Disney James was asked to lead an Ensemble for Movie Park, In Botrop, Germany. In 2008, James was offered a solo trumpet position with The Tony Award Winning Broadway show "Blast", but choose to continue his education at The University of North Florida. James received his B.A. In Music Performance and Art History under the study of professors J.B. Scott and Dr. Randall Tinnin. Through his pursuits in music, James has had the privilege of sharing a stage with performers like: Doc Severinsen, Diane Schuur, Chris Vadala, Tim Hagans, Dan Miller, Ernie Watts, Ed Calle, and Jimmy Cobb. James continues to perform while teaching students in the Florida area.
