“When Words Fail, Music Speaks†~Payshance
Payshance was born into the family of a single mother of four children. Being the youngest of four children raised in South Phoenix, she developed a strong sense of the world and what she wants out of life at an early age. She can be described as strong, determined, athletic, protected, spiritual, crazy, fun and an "old soul" all at the same time. She's humble yet confident in making her music and sharing it with the world.
Payshance started singing in church and had her first solo performance singing "Happy Birthday Jesus" on TBN at the age of 7 years old. Payshance was asked by her older siblings friends to sing often and they started paying her to sing "God bless America" around age 8. She wrote and recorded her first song at age 10.
At 11 years old, she began singing at coffee houses, pulling weeds, etc. so that she can pay for her beats, production, vocal lessons, costumes and other things that she needs to make her dreams come true. She’s never had a question of “if†in her mind ; but, her question has been “when Payshance has worked with international choirs and performing arts schools in which her voice continues to stand out and bring tears to her listener’s eyes.
At age 11, she wrote and recorded her hit single "Kritical" and had her first small acting part in the independent film, "Losing Touch". At 12 years old, she performed and won $300 at the Chavez High School Talent Show in Phoenix, AZ. Last year, her mother made the faith filled moved to Southern California so that she could pursue her goals. Within 4 months, she auditioned for the Film "Touched" in which she was cast in the children's choir for the film which is currently in production. Not much after that, she auditioned for and was accepted into Debbie Gibson's Camp Electric Youth. Shortly after Payshance's audition, Debbie Gibson added Payshance to her "short list" of performers that she would like to perform at her Benefit Concert to be held in West Hollywood. Payshance gratefully accepted the invitation to perform on stage with such a legend in Music.
Payshance's inspiration for many of her songs come from observations of her peers struggles and experiences she has witnessed first hand. Spit the truth is based on her friends stories of a parent consistently promising her friend that they will come to her performance and the parent never shows up. Payshance felt her friend's pain and wrote the song, “Spit the Truth“. Payshance desires to be a youthful voice for those who may otherwise not be heard.
At 10 years old, she wrote… “Things I Love About Singingâ€
1. I love knowing that when I get on that stage I can change other people’s lives and their minds too.
2. I love that when I sing, everything around me gets quiet and I forget all the hateful things in the world and I’m at peace.
3. I love that when I sing on stage I can persuade others to achieve their dreams.
Like I always say… “I am NOT a dreamer, because my dreams come true.†~Payshance
