About Me
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Timothy Fisher was introduced to the turntables by his uncles at the young age of 12. Throughout his youth, his yearning to learn the fundamentals of DJ’ing became a passion. Where youth his age were seeking jobs for personal gain, Tim worked part time jobs with one goal; to get his own equipment and build his record repertoire.
Tim began entering into DJ’ing battles where the love and respect that he was shown earned him the name that he is known by today, “DJ Tech.â€
DJ Tech’s name grew like wildfire, known as the local Brooklyn kid that could draw crowds to whatever events that were held where he was showcasing his DJ’ing skills on the turntables. DJ Tech decided to expand his talents to host house parties which eventually grew to him solely hosting larger events held at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple. It was his ability to draw hundreds of people to the events and his love for music that he realized that this was his ultimate dream and career move.
In 2003, DJ Tech expanded his “East Coast Flava†to the West Coast settling in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was welcomed by DJ RoryMac of Record Systems Record pool who helped him get into his pool. It was not long thereafter that he met POWER 88 KCEP (88.1FM, Las Vegas) Radio Personality, Carlaya (The Queen of Flow), who introduced him to the Power 88 family.
Las Vegas was originally blessed with DJ Tech’s skills on Power 88’s Monday Night Mix Down with Carlaya and the Saturday Night Mix with Radio Personality, God.S. Currently, he can be heard on the turntables on Power 88 KCEP’s Deuces Wild Show with Ballin’ D and DJ Thump on Saturday Nights from 8p.m. to 10:00p.m.
Throughout his life, DJ Tech has made many accomplishments, including being welcomed by the World Cast Radio Internet radio show, which is streamlined worldwide, as a featured DJ every Monday at 1:00p.m. PST/4:00p.m. EST (worldcastradio.com). It is through his show entitled, “The B Side†on WorldCastRadio that he has been able to share his skills with people and other DJs throughout the world.
His skills certainly do not go unnoticed. In recognition of his DJ'ing talent he has been honored by earning and accepting the position of "Mix Show Coordinator" at Power 88 KCEP. It is through this position that he formulates the strategy of KCEP, making sure that the mixing format remains consistent as well as entertaining to the listeners. In addition, this position enables him to bring on DJ's that share the same love for music; contributing to the overall goal of the KCEP family.
DJ Tech continues to broaden his horizons as a unique DJ by being one of the few DJs that has not completely turned over to computerized DJ’ing. When asked why he has not converted totally over to the computer, DJ Tech simply states, “he is holding true to the original music industry.â€
Not only does DJ Tech remain faithful to the industry, he has an ear for true musical talent and believes that music should be taken back to the original days where true musical talent was first. He takes pride in helping talented new artists get airplay that they deserve; such artist include upcoming R&B female vocalist, LyNe’ and Rap Artist, Artisan just to name a few.
It is evident that the music styles have changed throughout the years, but DJ Tech’s DJ’ing and mixing style is versatile, able to transcend to higher levels as the industry changes. His capability to move the crowd has only gotten better throughout his DJ’ing career and his determination to take music to the next level keeps him being on top of his game.
