About Me

I've been singing since I was 3 feet tall. My height hasn't changed too much, but thankfully my musical experiences keep coming. Where should I start...I don't want to bore you by going too far back. After studying music at UW - River Falls I flew to Miami to take part in my first long-term gig - saxophonist and singer for Carnival Cruise Lines, "Imagination" band. Met a lot of great people on that boat and recorded a C.D. called "Songs For Swingin' Lovers." After the cruise ship life, I moved to Phoenix and joined a funk band called Knee Deep Experience. It is a memorable band filled with creativity and talent. They've got a website: www.kneedeepx.com I also met my husband in Phoenix, so I'm mighty glad I stopped by the desert for a few years. We moved back to the midwest in 2002. While there, I met a musical comrade named Laura Fleming. We formed a group called Bellatrex back in 2003 and recorded three C.D.'s: "Atmosphere," "Bellatrex on the Belle," and "A Bellatrex Christmas." It was a special time of great creativity and friendship. Now I am back in the Phoenix desert, and in November 2008 my husband and I had a little tike. It's not too early to put a saxophone in his hands, is it?. My most recent project is a jazz duo formed with pianist Todd Luckey. We plan to step out and play a lot in 2010 - so please check the calendar - and stop by and say hi!

In love with music

I love music. Especially jazz. Sometimes it's hard to keep doing it as a career. But, I would wither away without it I think. So, I carry on.
