I Am a professional D.J./soundman. My professional name is DJ Baron or The Amazing DJ Baron. Born and raised in Harlem (east 129th St. Park and Madison ) until the age of 14. Then I moved to The Bronx in 1972. Right after moving to The Bronx I met Kool Herc through my older brother who lived in the same neighborhood and Coke LaRock who didn't live to far away by helping him(Kool Herc) move his sound system around town to get into the party's for free.I hung around him long enough until I was able to start out on my own. I collected and bit enough records until I finished high school in 1976. I started perfecting my mixing until 1977. I met a fellow DJ who lived in the north Bronx named Breakout. We decided to form a partnership and soon we were known as Breakout&Baron. Then we found an M.C. known as the voice of KK, better known as KK Rockwell. We found a few more M.C.'s and The Funky Four was born.(KK Rockwell, Keith Keith, Sha-Rock, Rahiem). Sha-Rock was the first female to rock the mic back in the day when we started the group. That was the first group because we had a few personnel changes; Second group. The Funky Four Plus One(KK Rockwell, Keith Keith,Sha Rock, Lil Rodney C,Jazzy Jeff). All together our group was known as The Brothers Disco. Which The Personnel consisted of DJ Baron, DJ Breakout,The Funky Four Plus One, Jazzy Dee, Tony Tone(Who went on later to form a group of his own The Cold Crush Brothers). Sisters Disco and The Security Crew. This is just a brief discription of who I am and where I came from to be a part in the beginning of this culture called Hip Hop. And to be one of the True Pionners of Hip Hop. Back in the day some groups had names for thier sound systems. Ours was called The Mighty Mighty Sasquash. In 1995 I have also been doing professional sound reinforcement.
