My interests include writing/playing/listening to music, fixing PC's, fishing, camping (haven't been camping in a long time), just relaxing and enjoying life in general.
I would like to meet anyone who would be interested in helping me and my band get somewhere. We currently need a drummer, and we should have a demo coming out later this year. We are good (the name of the band is "Shake") and our music does not sound like all the canned crap that is on mainstream radio today. I think we would be a good investment for anyone who would be interested.
I like many different styles of music, basically everything except classical, hip-hop, and rap. As far as bands and artists that I like and respect are Les Claypool, Primus, Oysterhead, Clutch, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Slipknot, Pantera (R.I.P. Dime, we miss ya), Red Hot Chili Peppers, 311, Korn, Fear Factory, Life of Agony (River Runs Red), Pro-Pain, Shake (can I put my own band in here? Sure, why not), Edge of Insanity (previous band I was in, R.I.P.), and other artists like John Digweed, Underworld, The Crystal Method, any other good electronica/techno artists, Yes, Bruce Hornsby (the best piano player ever!), and a bunch of different 80's songs and artists (Hey, I grew up in the 80's).
I'm not really a movie buff, even though I enjoy watching them. Mostly good dramas, sci-fi, and horror movies are what I like best. I would have to say that one of my favorite movies of all time is "Top Gun", I always wanted to be a pilot. Can't beat the Star Wars series either, and I find Star Trek always interesting (ever notice how much stuff we use today that was originaly thought up in the original Trek?).
When I'm watching TV, I'm always trying to learn something, so I usually watch the Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, Science Channel, Histroy Channel, anything interesting, anything that will make me think. I can't stand watching mindless sit-com re-runs and soap operas. I also like some sports on TV (Baseball - NY Yankees, Football - NY Giants, Drag Racing, sometimes Hockey), but only if it is a team I like, except football season....I can't get enough football -- GO BLUE!
I don't read books much because it hurts my eyes after a while. I do like to read magazines, like National Geographic, Music/Recording Mags, PC Mags, and various car and truck magazines.
I don't have a specific "hero". There are people that I look up to and respect, like my Mom and Dad, but I don't have a hero. If I could be like someone, I would like to be anyone touring the World playing their music for the masses to enjoy.
