Born in 2000, the Lethargy family is comprised of childhood friends who formed the band through a love of music while still at school. Various home recordings eventually matured into a first self funded and self released album titled “Road Out of Nowhere,†which received positive reviews in the national music press including
From Neath, South Wales comes one of the discoveries of the year. Lethargy mix grunge dynamics with Manics-style angst, and the results are awe-inspiring.
Swirling guitar soundscapes give way to heavy grooves, rounded off with intense political and philosophical lyrics that actually have something to say. Grandiose in every sense of the word.
This lot are one of the most exciting and inventive rock bands that have passed through this page, and boy, have we had a lot of those. Well done. Rating 4/5
This led to the band being signed by A&R legends, Derek Oliver and Dante Bonutto (click here for further info on Dante and Derek) (click here for further info on Dante and Derek)
, to their label, Grind That Axe. On 14th October 2006, Lethargy ventured to Mwnci Studios in the forests of west Wales for three weeks to record their new album. At the production helm was legendary producer David Prater ( praterproductions.com ) whose resume includes such artists as Dream Theater and Firehouse. Prater then went onto mix the album with the assistance of Javier Bassino in Santiago, Chile, South America. MURDER ONE: Murder One formed in late 2001 after the demise of thrash-fucks Medulla Nocte.Shortly after our second gig(the same night), vocalist John Morrow passed away in his sleep, leaving the band and many, many people shocked and upset. We kept going so we could play the tribute gig in his memory, then ended up going on...and on...and on.Long May His Memory Live On!! RIP. After several months of gigs with the likes of Clutch,Johnny Truant,Raging Speedhorn,Sikth,Mushroomhead and countless others culminating in the opening slot of the first Download festival ('ave it!),the band made a decison to bring in a second vocalist again.NOT a replacement, another chapter. In came John Louglin from Raging Speedhorn. After a shit load of gigs, and a shitload of stick from people over the move (justified at times may I add), and several line up stages, and a good few months sat around doing fuck all,in true Spinal Tap fashion, we get some interest from Japan. One thing leads to another and we end up in the studio for six weeks recording an album. "Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid" will see the light in a couple of months from now,and sounds great! At last we have a settled line up, a fresh approach, a new enthusiasm...and a lot more sober. We're back bitches!!! Just back from a successful tour with Pitchshifter across the UK..its all good!Enjoy the tracks....Murder One THE ALBUM IS OUT ON JUNE 5th 2006!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Head-On were formed by four friends who share a passion for heavy metal, wrestling and stupidity in general. Since forming in 2003, they have earned themselves the reputation as being one of the UKs most energetic and devastating live acts. With their demo 03 they got demo of the month in Metal Hammer magazine. and were hand picked to appear in the movie Colour me Kubrick. as well as lending two songs to the soundtrack which will sit next to songs by Bryan Adams. The movie will be out in cinemas 2006 and it stars John Malkovich. The band went on to tour the UK with Fozzy (WWE Superstar Chris Jericho on vocals), Stuck Mojo & Skid Row throughout 2005 as well as receiving rave reviews for the self released album XXL Now with a recent record deal under their belt it is clear that 2006 will be Head-Ons year. 9/10, The revolution has begun" - Metal Hammer "
