Phil McDonnell - Director
Phil created the Institute and has a background in both the music industry and vocational training. As an artist and songwriter he has had many record releases, TV and radio appearances. Phil has been a manager in music retail and owned his own recording studios and promotional companies. He is national administrative director for the 2337 and 2338 suite of City & Guilds qualifications (which he was instrumental in developing) and is responsible for the New Deal for Musicians music programmes in Greater London and the East of England.

Pat-C Brown - Administrator
Pat-C has extensive knowledge of local education and employment services organisations and procedures and provides invaluable advice to students and staff alike. She is also a talented MC, vocalist and songwriter in her own right. Pat-C also DJs on a local radio station specialising in R'n'B and hip hop.

Ben Copland - MOLP Advisor
Ben has had a long and varied career in the music industry as a performer, writer and producer. Among others he has worked with ... Eternal, Dina Carrol, Worlds Apart, Beverley Knight, Liberty X( V2), D Side( Edel), Ana Johnnson ( Spiderman 2), Sita, and Angel City.
In world of underground music, Ben has had releases under various guises, including Juan Touch and has worked with garage djs Bobbi and Steve from Kiss FM.

Dan Maitland - MOLP Advisor

Mark Narayn - Head of Sound Engineering Department
Mark has been with the Institute since it began, in 1989. His varied career has included: running his own business, Musical Director for the 'Vic Reeves Big Night Out', production of TV commercials, BBC film sound recordist, audio consultancy, drumming and performing in a host of bands and loads of sound engineering and production work.

Carl Marsh - Sound Engineering Lecturer & Musicians Open Learning Program Advisor
Carl recorded four albums and toured extensively with noisy art bastards Shriekback in the 80s. He recorded a solo album for Polydor before moving to New York for four years, where he was signed to Atlantic Records as Happyhead. He now writes with various obscure artists and is a partner in a production company making music for commercials, TV and libraries. As a further attention-seeking ploy, Carl also freelances in PR and advertising, and, when he can be bothered, wanders in to IMT to confuse Sound Engineering students and offer patently fraudulent advice to MOLP clients.

Mo Latin - Sound Engineering Lecturer
Mo has worked in the music industry for most of the last twenty years. Starting as a working musician then working through instrument sales, rehearsal studios, P.A. hire and both studio and live engineering has given him experience in many music industry areas. During this time he has worked with or for WOMAD, Winston Tucker (UB40), David Steele (Fine Young Cannibals), Abdelkader Saadoun, NEUK, and the South Bank Centre among others.

Ben Henderson - Sound Engineering & Music Technology lecturer
Ben currently produces at Black Valve Studios in Surrey as well as being the director of Bump & Thumper Recording Co. The bump and Thumper group are a collective of artists, engineers, and producers working together to provide professional services to the music industry.
Ben regularly gives lectures on Music Technology and Sound Engineering at IMT, as well as Kingston College.
Formerly a member of the internationally successful band BOA, Ben was signed with Polystar in Japan and has had Album and Single releases in Japan, South East Asia, the USA and the UK. The song DUVET was used as the theme tune for "LAIN", the Japanese Manga anime, and remixed by D.J. Wasai on the"LAIN- SERIAL EXPERIMENTS" Album. Pioneer USA have recently released the Album "TWILIGHT" in the United States, amalgamating Tracks from the "TALL SNAKE" E.P., which was originally released in Japan.
Ben's regularly performs with his current band MOTH, and also sound engineers at various live venues in the UK. MOTH have performed to raise funds for the London City Mission, Oxygen, and Youth initiatives.

Simon Baisley - MOLP Advisor
Simon is an experienced guitarist, composer, producer and mentor. His recent work on Daniel Bedinfield's album "Gotta Get Thru This" won him a Multiplatinum award for over 2000,000 sales. He performed with Gloria Estafan at the Nobel Peace prize awards 2003 and recently completed work on the new Kevin Mark Trail album.
As a musical director Simon has worked with Joan Armatrading and Tony Hadley. As a guitarist, with Phil Collins, Janet Jackson, Al Jarreau, and Paula Abdul among others. He has also composed for Channel 4 documentaries and cinema advertising for Nikon and Marantz.
