Sean was also attending Rotherham College as an art student. In April of 1980 he recieved a scholarship from London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). In 1983, at the at the Watermill Theatre in Newbury, England he played Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet. He did other stage work in London's West End, acting in such plays as: 'The Fair Maid of the West' (1986), 'Romeo and Juliet' (1987) and 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' for the Royal Shakespeare Company. He also did 'Deathwatch' (1985) at the Young Vic and 'Killing the Cat' (1990) at the Theatre Upstairs. Sean has three daughters: Evie Natasha (with Abigail Cruttenden) and Lorna and Molly (with Melanie Hill) Sean is a devoted follower of the Sheffield United Football Club and has a '100% Blade' tattoo on his left shoulder in honour of his favourite football team. Sean was one of the nine to get a 'Fellowship' tattoo on his right shoulder. Sean was awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree from Sheffield-Hallam University in England, in 1997. Sean has as a scar over his eye given to him by Harrison Ford while shooting his death scene in Patriot Games. Ford hit him with a boat hook
