Early incarnations of The Greeting Method date back to early 2002 consisting of Songwriter/Guitarist/Singer/weirdo - Reagan Lowry and co-founder/Graphic Designer -Alex Smiles as Bassist and supplying colourful vocal harmonies.
Fast forward a year, a long stint of auditions and much frustration. A skilled skinsman named 'D' (David Ruljiancich) emerged and impressed with his tight, technical approach to the material. Gone was the uninspiring nature of the drum machine and evolved TGM into a tight live unit.
Praised by punters and musicians alike for their powerful, controlled energy and strong songwriting displayed on the Melbourne Live Circuit, TGM looked sure to make their mark.
But unfortunately due to the nature of life's unpredictability, 'D' chose to exit the band and TGM yet again were at an inevitable stand-still.
Soon after, Lowry and Smiles also went different ways, but a fire still burned in within Lowry to recruit new members and continue the TGM evolution.
Finally in May 2006, the precise, very hard-hitting style of Adam Zaffarese and Steve Laughton's keen spark for groove resonated with Lowry's visions. Within two weeks a new song ironically titled "All In Time" was completed and paved the way for a heavier yet still melodic atmospheric sound.
Hitting the live scene again in early 2007 and playing alongside talented acts such as 'Birds of Tokyo', TGM delivered an even more powerful force to punters.
Just recently (late July '08) after some 7-months, Keaton Marin (replacing Laughton on bass) and TGM mutually parted ways, enabling Marin to focus on new project "Oceans Collide" (formerly "Apathy").
and continue their story.
September 2008 - Original phase two T.G.M Bassist/Funny Guy, Steve Lunchbox Laughton re-joins the method to "Go the whole Hog!!!".
Keep posted for upcoming DEMO and GIGS in all areas.
