About Me
I was born 3/28/1975 in Indianapolis, IN.
I lived there until 18, when I joined the Navy.
I graduated from Ben Davis HS in '93. During HS, I made my money working for a Wendy's. After HS, I landed a job at UPS pulling $400+ a week as an 18 year old living with his mother. I wasted a shit ton of money on car audio stuff.
I went to Boot Camp (12/93 to 3/94), Nuclear Field A School (3/94 to 10/94), and Nuclear Power School (10/94 to 5/95) in Orlando, FL. Reflecting on it... my time in Florida was wonderful.
I then attended Nuclear Power Prototype in Saratoga Springs, NY from 5/95 to 11/95. Not much to discuss there.
I served as a nuclear reactor operator on the submarine USS Toledo, which is stationed in Groton, CT, from 12/95 to 1/01. While there, I did two 6 month deployments, several 3 month mini-deployments, countless other short runs.
For shore duty, I got to go to Hawaii. I was stationed at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard from 2/01 to 1/04. WHere I had many a good time there, I pretty much hated Hawaii.
Sadly, the powers that be wouldn't let me leave Hawaii. They put me on the submarine USS Honolulu as a nuclear reactor operator, where I hated life from 2/04 to 2/06. That sub is now decommissioned. The Navy is cutting the bow off the Honolulu and attaching it to the USS San Fransisco to fix that sub after it's run in with an underwater mountain at top speed.
Now, I'm stationed on submarine #3, the USS Santa Fe, again as a nuclear reactor operator. It'll be in a shipyard in Maine until who knows when.
I'm married. I've got 3 kids, a dog (130 lb bullmastiff), and a cat (13 lb calico). When I go to my next duty station and get a place to live that has a decent yard... I'm building a koi pond!
