Vote for Davide Maugeri at http://www.thedjlist.comHe was born in Siracusa in 1984 and he has always been a music lover, of all kind of good music, from the reggae to house music, from Janis Joplin to the greatest Italian songwriters. He started to love the consolle when he was 13 ,starting to play records with a friend, but soon he had to give up his passion, being too young and couldn’t afford the high cost of his very strong liking for music. He awoke his desire of being a dj in the hot summer 2002, listening to the top djs of Atmosphere Fashion Club. He made his debut in 2003, on the occasion of the Halloween party ,performing at the privé of the famous discoteque “ToutVa”. On the same year he improved his technique thanks to his friend’s help:dj Sisio. Then he started to collaborate with the most important House events organization in Sicily: AFC, that helped him playing in the coolest clubs in Sicily : Marabù, Taitù, Toutvà and Rapanui. His musical infuences, due to the club culture, go from house to techno music. At the beginning of 2004, anticipating the musical tendency, he started to play electro sets, proposing artists like The Hacker and Miss Kittin, because of their own particular style of producing,so that their sound has become the distinctive feature of his sets, rising to fame as dj in a year, carryinghis sound around Sicily. Between 2004 and 2005 he discovered an artist that has a strong influence on his musical choices: Dapayk. In 2002 he started to work as producer, using the software Reason, at first as self-taught and then attending some Digital Music specializing courses. He’s working on a project at the moment, Synthesizer (we will soon hear more about it), and he’s improving his work as producer, making several productions. “Dawk” is the name of his new musical project ,which allows him to create new underground sounds. He plays as resident dj with “GUAI AI VINTI” , closing afterhours with very tech sets, largely approved by both collegues and young clubbers! He has playied records at : Marabù, ToutVa, Taitù, Rapanui, Villa Romeo, the End (ex Capannone - CT), Miami Disco, Moa Beach, La Perla Ionica (Happy Island), T6, Strike, Fefé Cantina, Red Light, La dolce Vita, Eternity Pub, Planet Alex disc (Cosenza), Gigadiga and Crazy Night. We will see what happens in the future!
