About Me

People, I know I've taken a long time on my records. I've been distracted, what can I say. But the album "Bright & Lonely City" was finally mixed two days ago. Soon I'll be your man.

When I am feeling more social I am the bass player for the Honey Brothers and, not uncoincidentally, am also one of the Gold Brothers .
I produced and arranged the album Ash Wednesday by Elvis Perkins . Here is a little story about that.
I also helped my friends The Good Listeners and Let's Go Sailing with their records.
Some of my songs were in the movie Mean Creek .

There is a bird that wants to play.
Influences: This week I'm listening to Yeasayer's new album, which is great. And Rocco Deluca and the Burden who I saw at Spaceland a couple days ago. That's a very good way to be quiet.

I seem to always come back to these people and things: Brian Eno, Hergé, Leo Tolstoy, Einstürzende Neubauten, the Adirondack mountains, Igor Stravinsky, Ween, Mr. David Bowie, Nick Cave, Nick Drake, Nick Rhodes, Elliott Smith, Björk Gumundsdottir, Edward Abbey, Paul Wellstone RIP, New Order, Soft Cell. The city influences me a lot. Forests also. And the Stranglers, Steve Reich, Eckhart Tolle, Meshuggah, Suicidal Tendencies, Ride the Lightning, Bleach, Belle and Sebastian. I used to have a lot of nightmares. I don't mean just a little. I mean a lot. So insomnia is a big influence. I slept with one eye open for my childhood. Or more often two.
Sounds Like: Here's where you find out, actually.
