About Me

I am a 23 year old UCLA graduate (Political Science 2009) from Burbank, CA. I love to read, watch films (and review them), and have lengthy philosophical debates with people. My favorite film is "Fargo", my favorite album is "Sketches of Spain" by Miles Davis or "Blonde on Blonde" by Bob Dylan (depending on my mood), my favorite book is "The Sirens of Titan" by Kurt Vonnegut, and my favorite presidents are Truman, Roosevelt (TR and FDR), Kennedy, and Jefferson. I love artificial grape, scenic weather, and learning new concepts. I have no use for organized sports or religion and find "Family Guy" to be perfectly loathsome.I prefer dogs to cats and noise to silence.

My Interests

first random review of the year: "There Will Be Blood"

There's a scene in Paul Thomas Anderson's magnificent, idiosyncratic "There Will Be Blood" that defines originality and excitement in cinema. It occurs after Daniel Plainview, a bitingly angry and oft...

2007 in Film: The Best and Worst

How will 2007 be remembered many years from now? Maybe as a year of some truly daring and creative releases that dealt with war and bloodshed in shockingly frank terms. Maybe as the year of the third ...

No Country For Old Men is the film of the decade

Recent films by the Coen Brothers just haven't lived up to the earlier brilliance they demonstrated themselves to be capable of. "No Country for Old Men"-based on the 2005 novel by Cormac McCarthy of ...

random review: Shoot Em Up

Already in the first scenes of "Shoot Em'Up," the tone and feel that will carry the picture to its closing credits is well established. Smith, played by Clive Owen, sits on a bench while munching on a...
