AUSTRALIA

Yea, been wanting to type this, finally got round to doing it. On March 15th i set upon the biggest bitch of a journey half way round the world to Australia, home of the kangaroos, koala bears and some insane heat.
The 2 day journey which took me to Dubai and Bangkok before arriving in Sydney Friday afternoon, this being my first time. My first steps to Sydney will be remembered for the rest of my life, the sun was blistering, the accent was amazing, and the shades were on!! to begin the best three weeks that i've ever lived.

The first day was unreal, we got the tiny plane from Sydney to Canberra, which is where we would be staying the majority of the visit staying with my dads cousin. We finally arrived at canberra over a small 30 minute flight, to be confronted by even more blistering heat and our dads cousin!! at least we got a ride to the house! obviously with the window down.
We got to the house to be confronted with an ice cold home made beer, made by the dads cousins hubby...(keep up ;)) knocking these back all day whilst dealing with jet lag is one thing i wouldn't recommend hehe. Everyone came round to see us, well...everyone that kinda knew us - my mum n dad went to bed, me like a proper idiot stayed up continuing to drink the home made beer - all the guys n girls were playing some pool when i decided to fall asleep! whoops! then they decide to poke me with the pool que telling me theres a giant spider on me, obviously jumping up like a shot wriggling about like a worm on cocaine. i rush to bed and end up in there for the rest of the night.

Days went on, we went everywhere, i decided to tag along with my friends to a rugby game, which happens to be surprisingly popular. but me being a typical scottish boy i couldn't handle what the sun was dishing out and iquote "hes gonna die out here" was said by some people, they were right!4 days in aussie and i was already blistering!

Well, that stuck behind me i continued my holiday as far away as possible from the parents, wanting to do what i want when i wanted to do it. Which included the legendary beer towers, staying over in houses away from the parents hehe and most of all...the exploring, me and Blair (friend) just went everywhere, out into the forest of what was left of it - cinema - rugby - and even a scottish pub!! wahey!!
Now, nearing the last week or two of my stay, all of us were taken down to Narooma, which is a beautiful fishing village, we stayed there the whole weekend doing some of the coolest stuff i would never do here. Being ocean swimming - fishing and having m&m's for breakfast :) which is an amazing experience i can tell you.

The last week in Canberra was just spent doing some cool stuff - going to zoo - pubs etc. We were to leave Canberra on the friday to spend the last weekend in sydney, so thursday night was to be remembered with the biggest boozing session of my life, shots, beer tower, more shots...oh and some wierd drink i never herd of and cant remember the name of...it was purple anyway. A hungover friday came, and it was time to leave behind the best time of my life to head to Sydney, it was a very hard thing to do to say goodbye to people you're not gonna see for a long time. the lump in my throat got bigger as i hugged blair and shook hands with her boyfriend, who is an amazing dude. the lump in the throat turned to tiny tears as we drifted further and further away from Canberra - driving to Sydney. Knowing my experience wasnt over for another few days - i alreadyknew it was over. BUT...Witnessing the awesome sights of Sydney brought back the smile - seeing the Opera House and the Harbour bridge was amazing, something i definetly want to do again.

Well that was my journey in a nutshell, i came back home to be welcomed by my friends with a nice out drinking session in the union. I missed them all and here's to the next trip.
