Craig Kelly is considered the godfather of snowboarding. He has influenced more riders than any other snowboarder. His smooth and unpredictable style was amazing to watch. Kelly's diversity of terrain made him the world's greatest snowboarder in his time. However it all ended on January 20, 2003 when a terrible avalanche outside of Revelstoke, British Columbia killed Kelly and 6 others. His legend lives on and he will forever be remembered as snowboarding's greatest figure.
"So I've been pushed farther and farther out into the mountains, but at the same time realizing that that experience is really nice and I'm glad I'm getting pushed out there farther."
- Craig Kelly
"Kelly is the best snowboarder of all time, and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who disagrees."
- Terje Haakonsen
