Cara Smith a 17 year old junior at Red Bank Catholic High School in Red Bank, NJ discovered her singing voice as her best means of expression at the ripe old age of seven years old. That early obsession led to annual school talent shows and eventually Cara joined the Young People’s Chorus of New York City. The “YPC†gave Cara the real desire to pursue music, with celebrity tributes to Bruce Springsteen and Oprah Winfrey, and an appearance on the 2006 MTV awards with rapper, T.I. King. The YPC was also featured on "From The Top, Live From Carnegie Hall," a show that celebrates the passion and dedication of young classical musicians. The YPC also performed at the Concert For Peace for Pope Benedict XVI at Yankee Stadium in April 2008 where Cara was a soloist for Give Us Hope. The YPC's latest CD release The Coolside Of Yuletide features songs with Roseanne Cash and Phil Stacey of American Idol. She has won Big Joe's Talent Show FM 101.5, The New York Knicks Half-Time Show, and most recently Manasquan Inlet Idol and Freehold Idol.Cara has completed her first 3 song demo which is available at Jack's Music in Red Bank. She is now working on new material with local songwriter and producer Ernesto Cullari as well as Joe Orlando, owner of the Monmouth Academy of music and The Cryers band member. New material will be posted as it is completed and a new demo is in the works.
