About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !
I was born in 1962 to musical parents. My dad had a BA from the Manhattan school of music. My mom played a bit of guitar, and was a figure skater, and dancer in N.Y. I started playing clarinet, then Sax then Drums, and then guitar. I took to that fast. My first band ROXZ, an all girl band won the 1977 battle of the bands in Hayward Ca. After that we played one gig at THE MABUHAY GARDENS IN SANFRANCISCO. I had to have a WORK PERMIT TO ENTER THE CLUB, AND STAY BACKSTAGE WHEN NOT PLAYING. Ah, to be 15 again!!,LOL:) and soon we were approached by a guy in the crowd that had a connection, which was SHINKO MUSIC PUBLISHING COMPANY LTD . The band went to Japan, recorded an album in Japanese and English ON TOSHIBA EMI label. We toured and had fun, but nothing much happened and we were back home. I played Bass and sang lead in Bleu Food, from San Francisco bay area. It was fun, but not my own music. I eventually hooked up with Jennifer Jones, who did top 40 with me in Hawaii, and then we started a rock rap band ala the Beastie boys sound. It was great, and ahead of it's time. It eventually turned into a pop rock/funky/vocals ala the bulgarian voices. It was the last project I did, and that was in 1991. I got married and gave it up for a bit. In that time I was bitten by the djembe bug. I love drumming, it is so spiritual, and uplifting. Not married anymore, I decided it was time to get the guitar out and start up again. Recently I recorded the song Angel of Love on a 4 track as a quick demo for a movie called Angel, which never got off the ground. I decided to upload it even though it is still raw and missing a solo for now. It has been so long since I have recorded and played, I'm afraid technology has passed me up, and I need to learn all the the new equipment and computer recording. But more will be on the way. I have so many styles that I play, I can't seem to really find a style of music to be categorized in. thanks for listening. Blessings :)

Sounds Like: That's the problem. You can't put me in a category which is the reason I gave up on getting signed. They would like my rock stuff, but the funk didn't fit into the "rock" category, and the folk didn't fit into the "funk" category. So we woud argue over what songs would be omitted, because they didn't fit in with a marketing plan. I write music, all kinds. Ernie Isley plays the baddest rock and funk and soul,so does Prince, Lenny Kravits, Chaka Khan,Mothers Finest I am like them. I play heavy metal, funk, r&B vocals, a little country flavor, a little smooth jazz, so I guess I would have to say "It sounds like and has influences of all that I have ever heard. CHECK OUT THIS GUY FROM AMERICAN IDOL SINGING OPERA. AMAZING!!
