-Fame-As a student at UCLA, Dawnn majored in Psychiatry and minored in Dance. Her aspirations were to become a Psychiatrist, yet the passion that she had for dancing, since a child, would soon become one of the centers of her life.
During her 1st semester in college she found herself following in her cousins Marrta and Tia’s footsteps, who were prominent figures on the fashion runways. Tia, however, was the one to be featured in music videos as a professional model, when the job was first surfacing and prestigious. Dawnn’s professional training in modern/jazz dance and ballet, including her natural beauty, were quickly noticed by many in the business and she was signed with LA Models. She suddenly began working as a professional Dancer/Model, now commonly known as “Video Models“.
Having the advantage of growing up with family members and their friends, who were and still are, some of the industries most well known Recording Producers, Recording Artists and Rappers, she was already exposed and well learned on the good and bad sides of the industry. She was fully prepared for her new profession.
Dawnn was featured in several of Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. music videos, as well as, videos for L.L. Cool J., Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Jodecie, R. Kelly, Aaliyah, Jay-Z, Wu Tang Clan, Outkast and Lil' Kim to name just a few.
During the late 90’s when the industry was taking a significant change with quality and standards, she retired from video work. She left feeling completely satisfied and blessed with all that she had accomplished and acquired.
Never the one to take time off from her studious behavior, she graduated on time earning two Bachelor’s degrees, and then focused on assisting in choreography. Her talent and presence has been felt at several award shows and video sets to date.
Having lived in a “jet-set†lifestyle, Dawnn knows the true meaning to, “To Whom Much Is Received, Much Is Requiredâ€. Feeling a much needed break, as Dawnn puts it, “ I’ve been on full blast 24/7, now is the time to fully enjoy the luxuries of life and self indulge in high-maintenance grooming! I have been effectively cultivating my power, control, and independence with my own empire. I’m spending a lot of precious time turning my individual talents into even more success... and STILL being Fabulous!†She is presently working towards a Master’s degree.
