Keep Your
Head Held High.
STRONG BLACK WOMAN
I See Her.
I Feel Her Hurt and Pain
The StruggleShe Has Been Through,
I See The Fight In Her Eye.
She Is Not Respected, But Yet Feared.
Why Is That?
She Has Put Forth Effort To Provide.
She Is AloneIn The World.
I Taste Her WetTears.
Those Big Drops Of Sacred Thoughts.
What IsShe Thinking?
Her Mind Is Wondering.
Why Is She Treated In An Undefined Way As So?
She Needs To Be Loved.
She Needs To Be Helped, But Yet She Is Independent.
SHE IS STRONG.
SHE IS BLACK.
SHE IS A WOMAN.

A Serious Woman
A Serious Woman
Gives Honor, Praise, and Glory to GOD, First!
A Serious Woman Spoke as a Child
When She was a Child;
When She Became a Serious Woman,
She Spoke as One.
A Serious Woman Knows That Being Pro-Woman
is Not Being Anti-Man.
A Serious Woman is Non-Assertive
When She Wants To Be,
Assertive When She Needs To Be,
and Aggressive When She Has To Be.
A Serious Woman Gives Consideration
To You and To Herself.
A Serious Woman Doesn..t Waste
Your Time Nor Her Own.
A Serious Woman Knows That
When She Has a Job To Do, She Does It.
A Serious Woman Gives Credit
and Takes Some For Herself.
A Serious Woman Welcomes Competition;
It Keeps Her serious.
A Serious Woman Turns Cannots Into Cans;
Don..ts Into Do..s;
Won..ts Into Wills;
Downs Into Ups;
No..s Into Yes..s;
Negatives Into Postives.
Every Woman is Serious...

MY HERO
A Mother's Love
A mother's love is something
That no one can explain.
It is made of deep devotion
And sacrifice and pain.
It is endless and unselfish
And enduring come whatmay.
For nothing can destroy it
Or take that love away.
It is patient and forgiving
When all others are forsaking
And it never fails or falters
Even though the heart is breaking.
It believes beyond believing
When the world around condemns.
And it glows with all the beauty
Of the rarest, brightest gems.
It is far beyond defining.
It defies all explanation.
And it still remains a secret
Like the mysteries of creation.
A many splendored miracle
Man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
Of God's tender, guiding hand.
With love from Your Son
I LOVE YOU MOMMA

A Black Woman..s Essence
When she walks into a room,
Her beautiful personality blooms.
She can stand proudly Beside her man,
And still remain her own woman.
As she embarks upon a difficult challenge,
Her inner strength allows her to manage.
For she continues to maintain an elegant face,
While being face with prejudice views of her race.
Although, a career oriented woman
with style and grace,
She never forgets the importance
of a mother..s embrace.
She knows of God..s presence
in her life and in the world,
And testifies to the power that He can hold.
Who is this woman?
It is the spirit of the black woman.
Everyone she touches
can feel her presence,
For she has an
undeniable essence.
Sista..."I..M SORRY"
I..m sorry...for all the times he made you cry.
I..m sorry for all the times he left you wondering why.
Sista, I..m sorry...for the many promises that he never, ever kept.
I..m sorry for all the times that he didn..t come home, and all alone you slept.
Sista I..m
sorry...that now you think all men will hurt you like he did.
I..m sorry that now you hurt so deep, so you choose to
keep your feelings hid.
Sista I..m sorry...please believe that things will get better, but only time can tell you
when.
I..m sorry that I was not around to help you pick up the pieces, but I..m here to help you put them back
together again.
Sista I..m sorry...but he..s not coming back, believing that will only add to your frustration.
I..m sorry but you must do it for yourself, there can only be self gratification.
Sista I..m sorry...if you need more than that to help the echo..s of your mind ignore him.
I..m truly sorry, and if that..s not enough then allow me to apologize for him.
Sista I..m sorry...I know you..ve heard it over and over from others.
I..m sorry but I must let you know that there are still some damn good Men.
Sista I..m sorry...if you haven..t noticed that I am the man for you.
I..m sorry if you can..t see past his dirty deeds, that I..m willing to do all I can for you.
Sista I..m sorry...if you don..t believe me, but I know that hurting you would only put the shame on me.
I..m sorry, but I..m not the one who hurt you, so please don..t put the blame on me.
Sista I..m
sorry...if you can..t see that I..m willing to do whatever it takes.
I..m so, so sorry, and if it means drying your tears
for years, I..m willing to pay for his mistakes.
When we were young and
found pleasure in different ways
We never stopped to think
how it would effect our later days
We drank, partied, and
selected undesirable friends
We committed adultery, fornicated,
and our pleasures had no ends
We had several sex partners
all at the same time
Some of us had children and
the fathers we could not find.
We did drugs and had
children without being wed
Church is where we went on
Sundays if we could get out of bed
Time has passed and we're
all grown up now
Trying to live a righteous
life and not knowing how
Our past keeps appearing
in our children out of wedlock
Or our alcoholic or drug
addictions that we can't stop
We talk about God with
the pretense of being His child
All the time wishing He could turn
His head for a while.
There are some of us that
are truly serving God without sorrow
And not letting our yesterdays
mess up our todays or tomorrows.
