**CONRIZZLE - THE SUFFOCATION (HOSTED BY DJ SMIRNOFF ICE)**
CONRIZZLE
Conrizzle represents the beginning of the 80’s babies claim on the music charts. Conrizzle born out of his name Conrad has made a name for himself on the music scene through a constant stream of hits that has major labels paying close attention. Releasing “Against the Speculation†during the summer of 2006 spawned the hit single “Ride Slowâ€. Conrizzle’s infectious swagger and catchy lyrics left audiences in awe of the eighteen-year-old native of Goldsboro, NC.
Using forums such as BET.com/onblast and Youtube as a springboard, “Against the Speculation†went on to sell 3,500 copies thru direct sales via the internet. The music video for “Ride Slow†went on to be featured on sites as blastro.com, myspace.com and countless online video channels. The single also caught the attention of program directors across the country. Having picked up 35 BDS spins in various markets such as Phoenix, Miami, Washington D.C, Houston, and numerous others, Conrizzle is definitely more than a regional phenomenon. Adding to the buzz created by radio, Conrizzle was chosen as a featured Nexxt Boost Mobile artist. “Ride Slow†was quickly introduced as a ring tone available on Ringtones.com along with numerous other carrier sites. As a favorite artist on XM Satellite Radio, XM 66RAW channel has continued playing Conrizzle’s music as his fans from across the country have responded with a roar demanding more music.
Coupled with his talent on the mic, Conrizzle the producer is creating waves in the urban music scene with his uncanny ability to make hits. Having worked with 106 & Park Freestyle Champions, Loaded Lux and Nickelus F, Conrizzle’s production is what initially attracted other artists to work with the young star. Chosen to be featured on the And1 Streetball Vol.9 DVD, Conrizzle hard-hitting drums and limited use of samples makes him a rarity in an era full of copycat artists and producers. Having worked with a wide array of artists from the east to west coast, Conrizzle’s most widely heard production was “Alarm†a classic battle track that Jim Jones from Dip Set chose as a response to Jay-Z lyrical declaration of war. This track allowed Con to be a part of the Street Dreams Tour during the summer of 2007 as part of Jim Jones entourage. In addition to working with Dip Set’s Capo, Conrizzle’s production caught the attention of 50 Cent as he was listening to a demo from Arizona. The end result was the signing of Young Hot Rod to Gunit Records.
The future looks bright for this fast rising star. With the sophomore release of “A BREATH OF FRESH AIR†in the summer of 08, Conrizzle new single “Apple bottom†is quickly setting the airwaves and dance floors on fire. Audiences will love Conrizzle new material, which sets the bar even higher. With a great combination of concept songs and radio hits, “A BREATH OF FRESH AIR" will astonish listeners. Conrizzle is also busy working on production for Gunit Records, Atlantic Records, and Byrd Gang Records. Con is dynamically creating a new style for music consumers tired of cliché rap music. Comparisons to Kanye West would make most artists nervous; however Conrizzle takes it as a complement to his variety and willingness to take risks with his music.
He simply states, “I let my music speak for itself, each song is a like a piece of my soul.†We invite you to listen and experience Conrizzle’s music. Regardless of your musical taste, his unique production and lyrical talents will leave you wanting more.
PAT PREEZY
Patrick Pryor??? Who in the hell is that??? Nobody.....just a producer turned singer turned rapper. Born on the Northside of Chicago (Uptown) on August 2nd, 1983, a future musician was born to the parents of Shelia Pryor and Clifford Dean. Patrick's love for music came from the music that was played during his childhood. "My parents would be cleaning the house and blasting music all the time." says Patrick. "All the good shit like the Isley Brothers, The GAP Band, Alexander O'Neal....just feel good music." At the age of 4, Patrick started playing the piano and taught himself how to play by replaying songs off the radio by ear. At the age of 10 he was turned to singing when childhood friend Earl Hampton wanted to form a singing group. "This was around 93 when my boy wanted to do the singing group thing and so we got together with another friend Torrice and formed "sincere" 1993 also marked the first time Patrick started producing. "That beat was just a fuck up that happened when we was practicing. I was messing with some of the pads on the CASIO and came up with our song intitled "Nasty". Over the years of 1993 to 2002 The Group went thru alot of changes. New people coming and going, lack of drive, and school and relationship problems. "To be honest, I think we were just growing as artist and it was time for us to do our own thing" says Patrick. "We still cool to this day....we went from friends to brothers."
During the change of the group, Patrick started focusing on producing. "A friend of mines sold me this program for the Playstation called "MTV Music Generator" for 15 dollars. At this time I didn't know shit about arranging beats, different tracks, making a beat coming together with the right sounds...nothing." Patrick studied to program and mastered it within 4 months. "I started doing beats with my boy Yingsak, we was the hottest production team on the North Pole. To this day we're concerned the hottest producers from the Northside of Chicago." After having the northside of Chicago, Patrick wanted something bigger. He wanted the world. "Once I got ahold of the internet, it was a whole new ball game for me." says Mr. Pryor. "If it wasn't for the net I wouldn't have came across fellow producers and songwriters I would've never met." People like Conrad "Conrizzle" Gibson, Darren "Lab Ox" Billy, Donell "Yung Truth" Young and the whole Soundsqaud family.(Beanz, Los, Majik and Shytee) just to name a few. Doing the recording of his first underground album "Chicago's Finest", a gift and a curse happen to Patrick. The gift being his first son Brandyn being born and the curse being the passing of his mother."I didn't wanna do shit after that.....nothing at all...I felt like I was done." Patrick pulled the plug on the album and wasn't going to release it until longtime friend Conrad motivated him to finsh the album. "If it wasn't for him, I don't think I would still be doing music right now." After rushing thru recording the album, Patrick focused on being more of an artist. Even tho Patrick was still producing for people here and there such as G-Unit's "Hot Rod", Brian Patrick of the Forgotten Onez and "Manners" him and friend Conrizzle went back into the lab and started a project intitled "Phase 2"
"Why does Phase 2 keep getting pushed back?" Patrick says he doesn't know. "I don't know why I keep pushing it back...to be honest I wasn't motivated, and I was going thru some more personal things. When I'm in a postive place, I can write and record songs...and I was no where near that. Patrick placed "Phase 2" on hold and started working on songs for Conrizzle's first solo album "Against the Speculation." After that was done, they quicky moved into another project...a best of both worlds type album intitled "Our Situations: Love & Music" At this time Patrick became torn between what he wanted to do with his album. Was he going to sing.....or rap. He decided to do both and that's when the Alter Ego "Pat Preezy" was born. "Pat Preezy" is an loud, cocky, ego having asshole that doesn't care about what he says and who's listening. While on the other hand Patrick Pryor is a smooth, mellow, ladies man. Patrick went back into the studio and started re-doing "Phase 2". During that time, the birth of his second son Isaiah slowed the process down and once again halt the production of Phase 2.
"So is the album ever coming out?" Patrick says "I have alot to prove so yeah, it's coming." In the past few months."Phase 2" The album talks about varies real life subjects surrounding Patrick's life. "It's time to bring that good music back while changing the whole R&B genre." With the new found motivation, you can expect Phase 2 sooner than you think.
