Herbie and I were married Sept. 17th 1983 after being friends for years. He retired from the state of Tennessee to really go to work in our business in the small town we live in. I couldn't ask for a better friend partner or soul mate. We live on the beautiful Cumberland watching the barges go by every few hours. We enjoy the same things especially the traveling thing!I grew up surrounded by music. My family is The Carter Family. Both my parents, Anita Carter & Don Davis were heavily involved in the Nashville Music scene. My father ran Harlan Howard's publishing company, produced records & managed Waylon Jennings office & affairs on Music Row while my mom, sang with her family on The Johnny Cash Show.
When I was 14 I started singing with the family including my grandmother, Maybelle across the country at bluegrass festivals & also with the Cash show. I did this until I married my husband, Herbie & my kids, Kimberly & Brandon came along. I then decided to stay closer to home & managed a medical office while they were young. Now, I sing from time to time at venues that are particularly interested in the Carter Family. I enjoy the old time music. I enjoy riding our Harley on long trips & the excitement of not knowing which road we'll be taking. Herb & I have made a point to travel as much as possible. Our 03 UltraClassic rolled over 104,000 miles before we bought our new toy, a 2009 Black (of course)Harley Ultra Classic.
We are just getting the miles rolling on it, so watch out America...here we come!Our children are wonderful. Kimberly, her husband Jason,our son Brandon and his girlfriend, Stephanie, our grandaughter, Savannah and of course our 2 black lab mixes
