Person Parcel, a four-piece band from Baltimore, Maryland, has been a band for three years (only recently adding Anthony DiMenna on bass and Andrew Dorsey on the trap kit). The founding members, Ryn Dorsey and Gary Barrett (lead rock guy from Gary B & the Notions), look forward to the recording and Summer/Fall 2009 release of their debut album, "Purse and Parcel." The idea for the band's super-simple and ultra-accessible brand of alt-country / folk-indie music comes from years of listening to Fleetwood Mac, Donovan, Young Fresh Fellows, Halo Benders, Rilo Kiley, and Ida (among many others).
We're trying to end up with a catalog of memorable, classic albums like a Velocity Girl, Elf Power, or a Geraldine Fibbers. We're up to the task! We are currently writing songs and practicing in a basement.
We enjoy sunshine, guitar-shredding, all shrapnel, happy music, positivity, shady parks, parabolas, the music of Harry Nilsson, the shape of distant worlds, free food at shows (vegan/veggie, please), being guest-listed (expect our text message), and the Sonicness of 90's music. We are mostly pro-things-and-stuff. We don't talk about things we hate. It's a waste of time. We play a lot of shows, so be on the lookout!
Some of our songs are the solo work of Gary B from Gary B & the Notions, and some are the songs of Your Imaginary Friend. In our opinion, the tunes to look out for are the ones we've written together.
Check out our other band, Gary B & the Notions!
