Ernie Butler has been involved in entertainment and hospitality in Montreal for more than 25 years. His reputation as an entrepreneur, a bon vivant, and someone who can make bank managers break into a cold sweat, has followed him into the comedy business where he has become known far and wide as a promoter of top-flight talent.
Ernie is shown on the right, on stage, just a few moments before someone asks him to stop brandishing the microphone stand and to sit down and be quiet.
His stage style notwithstanding, Ernie is no stranger to microphones. He's the host of a weekly radio show - The CJAD Comedy Hour - heard on CJAD 800 in Montreal. The show is broadcast at 11pm from Monday to Friday, Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at noon.
Beyond the comedy show, Ernie has made a name for himself as an able and affable talk-show host on CJAD.
