anything can be interesting, it just depends on the context. take spiders, for instance. i'm dealthy afraid of spiders, and yet i spent a good 20 minutes the other day watching one weave it's web. i also like nearly anything related to arts & creativity, as well as science. and nature. and faith. and maps. and outer space. and uselss information that i can bring up in those awkward moments at parties.
stephen colbert.
i like music that lets me play pretend. Lauryn Hill, Rachmaninov, Imogen Heap, Massive Attack, The Violet Burning, U2, Dave Mathews, The Umbrella Tree, The Golden Sounds, Andrew Collins, Jack Johnson, Over The Rhine, Sixpense None the Richer, Alison Kraus and Union Station, Ben Folds, Fleming and John, Anthony Skinner, music from Cirque du Soleil, Venus Hum, and i must admit to singing along to Kelly Clarkson when she comes on the radio.
The Princess Bride, Elizabeth, Wit, X-Men, Stigmata, Pirates of the Carribbean, Whale Rider, The Matrix, Batman Begins, ... these lists are really challenging. i can't ever remember under the pressure. V for Vendetta changed my life.
battlestar galactica (still a nerd at heart). if i'm watching tv, it's because i'm avoiding something else i should be doing. i primarily like avoiding things with good sci-fi. Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are essential. HGTV is addicting. I still miss X-files.
The Once and Future King, The Three Musketeers, Pride and Prejudice, Where the Sidewalk Ends, Otherland, Letters to a Young Poet, Rilke's Book Of Hours, Lost Horizon, Soul Survivor, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, most Sherlock Holmes, and Dune are some of my favorites. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall at The Eagle and Child.
anyone who can live the faith they claim. my husband, as he's survived me for six years and counting:)
