I'm not actually living in Paso Robles anymore, at least not for a few months. I was offered a Harvest internship at Siduri Winery in Santa Rosa. Because Siduri make some of the most amazing Pinot Noirs that I've ever had, and they are currently dabbling in Rhone varietals (another passion of mine) with their Novy label, I just had to take this opportunity. This is a chance for me to learn a lot (and work my ass off). So I'm up north, but I'm not totally alone--my new roommates--so cool--let me bring my cat, Aslan, with me. Life is good here, also. I now have a chance to explore the Sonoma wine growing region. This is something I've been wanting to do for a while. It's just as beautiful here as in SLO county...possibly more beautiful b/c of the evergreens. Also, there seems to be a little more precipitation up here: So, it's a bit more green. I'm becoming fast friends with my crew at Siduri: They're good people. Adam and Diana Lee are most generous. They open significant amounts of wines for us to taste from the depths of Adam's cellar. Also, they like to buy us lunch and beers a LOT!!! SWEET!! I'm having a good time: They're paying me to have fun (although it's labor intensive), and I get college credit at CalPoly....I'm loving life! ;0)
