About Me

i am super high-strung all the time, i try to be laid back and it is simply impossible for me to do. i am married. my husband is awesome and accepts the fact that i can not relax. i love my family...they are awesome.i just moved to oklahoma city with my husband because he took a job with a consulting firm here after finishing up grad school. i've started working on my MEd, but i've put that on hold for a little while, at least until we get settled into our new city.i am still best friends with the girls i grew up with, which is kinda weird i know, but it works!

My Interests

Dallas Mavericks basketball, yoga, drinking red wine out of a pink glass, lazy sundays at home, spray painting, trivial pursuit, gerber daisies, freckles, fancy pants at the loophole, new hair products, green tea soap, salt & vinegar pringles, the smell of new workbooks & my adopted ninja fetus...his name is Henry.

I'd like to meet:

You, I suppose...I tried not to get sucked into the whole myspace thing, but my friends' powers of persuasion are too strong. My spirit has been broken!

Music:

I'm not really into the new, cool, indie stuff, with a few exceptions...I'm still a big fan of early 90's alt pop and alt country. I also really like 80's country...it is cheesy, but reminds me of my childhood. Throw in a few of the classics, and the occasional neo-soul/funk and that is what is in rotation on the ipod. Such as: Material Issue, Social Distortion, Radiohead, Jayhawks, Wilco, Jem, The Toadies, The Beatles, Elton John, Dramarama, Eddie Rabbit, Guns N Roses, The Hold Steady, Bill Withers, the Lemonheads, The Cure, Queen (I used to not be a huge fan, but via my husband, they have grown on me!), Lo-Fi Chorus, Outkast, Merle Haggard, Smashing Pumpkins, India.Arie, The Sparrows/Sorta, American Werewolf Academy, Dolly Parton, Grand Champeen, Slobberbone/The Drams, Throw Rag, Willie Nelson, Corrine Bailey Rae, The Libertines, Kings of Leon, U2, Steve Earl, Coldplay, Matthew Sweet, Weezer, Electric Six, Beck, Ho-Hum, Aqueduct, Stevie Wonder, Supersuckers, The Killers, Drive by Truckers, Elvis, The Dandy Warhols, Sunday Drive, Centro-matic, Johnny Cash, SonVolt

Movies:

i LOVE all movies! i love the experience of going to the movies to see the big blockbuster & or the little know indie film...it's all good! A few of my favs are: About a Boy, Momento, Pulp Fiction, Almost Famous, Requiem for a Dream, Chicago, All of the Smokey and the Bandits, Girl Interrupted, American History X, Moulin Rouge, Urban Cowboy, Empire Records, The Lord of the Rings, Goodfellas, City of God, Walk the Line, Casino, Maria Full of Grace, Love Actually, Any and all Will Ferrell: Wedding Crashers, Old School, Anchorman, Ricky Bobby, etc.

Television:

Great time suckage & I watch ALOT of it! The OC, Sopranos, Six Feet Under, LOST, Grey's Anatomy, Dexter, Entourage, Weeds, My Name is Earl, The Office, almost anything on HGTV, Intervention, Survivor, The Shield, and my guilty pleasure...Flavor of Love. Also, have you seen the new Sesame Street character? Abby Cadabby! She is so cute!

Books:

Do blogs count? I love blogs...I read alot of them! Favorite book of all time: To Kill a Mockingbird, then I like to switch back and forth between a serious book and a fluff/chick lit book...I am usually reading 2 or 3 books at a time. Anything by David Sedaris, Nick Hornby, Augusten Burroughs, Jennifer Weiner, Janet Evanovich,or Douglas Coupland. I also like psuedo-religious books like The Da Vinci Code, God's Politics, and Under the Banner of Heaven. A couple of other good ones are Please Kill Me and Wicked. Now, because of work, I am reading about retirement and gift planning and non-profits...FUN STUFF!
