Da Lion's Den wears locks as an expression of inner spirituality. For them, the term "dread" refers to a "fear of the Lord", expressed in part as alienation from the perceived decadence and other evils of contemporary society and a return to the Covenant with the Almighty.
Like the afro, locks also can have social and political ramifications. For some peoples of African descent, locks are a statement of ethnic pride. Some see them as a repudiation of Eurocentric values represented by straightened hair.
For some, the rejection of ideas and values deemed alien to African peoples (which locks embody) sometimes can assume a spiritual dimension. Similarly, others wear locks as a manifestation of their black nationalist or pan-Africanist political beliefs and view locks as symbols of black unity and power, and a rejection of oppression and imperialism.
With upcoming releases from Luckie, Young Diggy, Mark XI, and Black Boi Ben da Lion's Den Music Group is set to take the gospel to the street masses:

To us the Lion's Den today represents the struggle we have put ourselves in. The lives we lead, the things we do, the sins we commit. With God as your savor, you to can be freed from The Lion's Den and live to tell the world. The more we believe in God, the more we can unify and mass up to walk into his kingdom. The Lion's Den Music Group is a company built on those very words in the book of Daniel. The rock has been removed and we are welcoming lost souls from the traps to the churches. Don't let no one tell you, you can't praise God how you are.
