Lion Thief originally began as the solo project of Ted Gowans. Ted spends most of his time touring with Tegan & Sara playing guitar and keyboard, but took some time out to record an E.P. project with longtime friend and collaborator Dirk VanderWal in early 2006. As the material took shape in the studio, Ted began putting together a band to take it out live. Recording has continued and the band is expecting to put out a full-length independent release in spring 2007.
