Jilly Sentino

I have been involved in music since I was a child. My parents started me off with classical piano lessons when I was just 7 years old. I had to practice every day for at least a 1/2 hour after school. When no one was home, I would sing while I was playing. If I heard a door, and knew someone was home, I would stop. My parents never knew I could sing until I was about 13 years old. I sang "Maybe" from Annie at the Intermediate School Winter Chorus show. They came to the program with the impression I would be playing piano-instead they found I was a singer!!! From then on, I always loved to sing and play my piano. (My sister Allison would beg me to play her 1/2 hour of piano practice too-mom never knew!!!!) I continued to perform in various high school talent shows and plays. After college, I started singing in various karaoke contests winning a variety of prizes. For several years, I volunteered my talents for several benefits held to raise funds for the New Jersey chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. I have competed in various states throughout the nation, including Houston Tx, Nashville Tn, and in the regional Nation Singing Championship finals in Burlington, VT. I went on to win FIRST PLACE FEMALE in the ROCK/POP category in the National Finals in Nevada at Talent Quest in 2004!!! I have performed with several local bands including venues at Harrahs in Atlantic City. I regularly perform the National Anthem at Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ, and in various Cabaret Revues, "Diva" shows, and also love to perform in adult care facilities. My dream has always been to record in the studio and release my own orignal CD, and perform my own rendition of the National Anthem which I am working on producing. I love so many different styles of music and performing that the hardest part is narrowing which style/genre to create my own CD, but it is finally in the works..............
