Keshet
Keshet is a grassroots organization dedicated to creating a fully inclusive Jewish community for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) Jews in Greater Boston and across the country. We offer resources, training, and technical assistance for creating change in Jewish communities nationwide.
Massachusetts Programs
Social, Cultural, and Educational Events: From text study at a shul to a night out at a bar, our events build community, strengthen Jewish identity, and provide opportunities for GLBT Jews in the Greater Boston area to meet one another.
Transgender Working Group (TWiG): A support and social group for transgender Jews and allies. TWiG also offers educational programs on transgender issues and fosters trans inclusion in Keshet and in the broader Jewish community.
Organizing for GLBT Rights: From equal marriage to transgender rights, Keshet mobilizes Massachusetts Jewish communities to work for justice.
National Programs
   The Hineini Education Project
Safe Schools training and support for Jewish educators to promote respect and honest dialogue by exploring gender and sexual orientation in a Jewish context.
Community screenings and facilitated workshops of the Keshet-produced documentary film, Hineini: Coming Out in a Jewish High School.
Hineini Curriculum Resource Guide – A companion to the film for grades 7–12.
Building Capacity for GLBT Jewish Activism – Training and technical assistance to emerging Jewish GLBT groups in other cities to replicate the Jewish Safe Schools & Supportive Communities Program and build local capacity. JPride in San Diego and the Jewish Gay Network of Michigan in Detroit are Keshet’s first two partners.
