Gary's Best Friend

MyGen Profile Generator Though never officially disbanded, it seems obvious that "Gary's best friend" is a piece of history. Starting out in the early nineties, GBF soon reached “local hero status”, played countless gigs in Germany and even a few in the UK. They record three albums, had a few TV and Radio appearances. The last sign of life was a highly recommended contribution to a “Barclay James Harvest”- tribute sampler, which was released in 2004 and is still available via the “BJH”- homepage. There were even plans and also a few demo recordings for a fourth album with the working title “quadro”. But sadly the whole thing came to a halt by summer 2004 for a bunch of personal reasons. Now, two years later, Stefan and Jörg are running a newly formed tribute band; Martin has teamed up yet with another side-branch of the GBF-family tree to form the band “mooning”, while Dieter is running a solo-act under the name “starfish64”. What remains are some fond memories and couple great songs of a fine band. We’ll update this page from time to time with some classics and rarities from the golden age of the compact disc.
