About Me

An almost-native of Canby, Oregon, Amy has been writing songs since the age of 14, but will never let you hear those early ones. She graduated from Wheaton College in 1998 with a degree in Christian Education and Ministry, and has since put it to good use as a residential group home counselor, a professional scrapbooker, a children's/youth/music minister in France, an instructional assistant, an administrative assistant, a production planner and a church planter (she suspects she has some kind of Career A.D.D., but has never been officially diagnosed).
She recently relocated from Portland, OR, to Pasadena, CA, after marrying the love of her life, writer and PhD student Patrick Oden, and works as a Program Assistant for a day camp program.
Amy desires to use her songs first and foremost as a means of making much of GOD and what He's done, and also to encourage believers in their walk with GOD and to recommend & endear Christ to those who don't know Him yet. Her songs are largely influenced/inspired by the work of Steven Curtis Chapman, David Wilcox, and Caedmon's Call, her experience as a worship leader, and her day-to-day journey of life by faith.
Her fourth studio project, That Holy Night (A Christmas EP), is now available for your listening pleasure, and includes four original songs and four revisitations of classic Christmas tunes. Produced & engineered in Portland by Jordan Richter, the album features the talents of many other artists including Rob Classen, Jeff Warren, Jonny Wright, Emily Overstreet, Mindy Boyd, Chris Donohue, Guy Tyler, and Lewi Longmire.
Amy enthusiastically supports the efforts of The Dalit Freedom Network, who is actively working to spread light & hope by fighting for the dignity of the Dalit people of India, the "Untouchables", who have been unthinkably oppressed & persecuted for thousands of years. If you are thinking of making a year-end gift this year, consider their plight and visit www.dalitnetwork.org to learn about the many ways that you can help.
