I'd like to meet:
First off, I have a big heart, and not just for people. I've gone through my aches and breaks, and now I feel a lot more confident about what I want for my heart. I'm looking for someone whose heart is strong enough to not only love themselves, but those around them. This is the key to compromise, so you'd have to be able to know the difference between what you want, what someone else wants, and the middle road. An extreme receiver is never able to nurture a relationship, and an extreme giver is bound for a life of bitterness. Know thyself in love before knowing thy neighbors, or ye shall be plagued by the contagion of selfishness, and love shall be further from thy grasp. Scary, right?
I'm somewhat of a deep thinker, if you hadn't noticed (and sarcastic, at times). In some cases, my contemplation can seem rude, as if I'm ignoring you or avoiding a confrontation. In truth, I try to weigh my words carefully when it's important, and sometimes I simply don't know how to respond. I'm not the best at social interaction. Otherwise, I tend to be a little too clever; friends have accused me of picking apart their words. In my own defense, if I do that with you, I am either using it as a defense mechanism to keep my more vulnerable self unexposed, or I have simply come to know you well and do not think a few grammatical corrections will blemish our friendship. I am weird.
Speaking of which, I follow a pagan path that is best describe as Shamanic Witch. My beliefs stem from Native American religions, Wiccan teachings, and the practice of magick. If you can't handle a guy that does a spell now and then, or has a lot of friends that share similar beliefs, then I know there is someone better for you than I, but it was nice to meet you. If you want to use me for my magickal abilities, then you'll find that hard, for I prefer a solitary approach. I practice witchcraft (not to be confused with Satan-worship, thank you) in privacy, or with my circle mates. With that territory comes a love of nature and all living things. I get a shiver down my spine when I kill an insect that has infiltrated my home, and I always apologize to its spirit. I am a torn spirit, one part environmentalist and one part humanitarian. If you can understand the depth of that conflict, then we already have something to talk about!
And the other important fact that I feel necessary to share is this: I grew up with an aversion to alcohol, for several reasons that I can discuss in length one-on-one. To sum it up, I am only recently coming to accept the place of alcohol in this world, and I will take very small samplings. However, I still have some misgivings about being around inebriated people, whether they are strangers or friends (loved ones are the hardest to be around). I am trying to open up and loosen up, but don't expect to turn me on to drinking. If you try, I will definitely see that as an attack on my personal values and that I can not allow. On the other hand, I would appreciate more exposure to alcohol (as in, being around it and just tasting it, as mentioned earlier) with a responsible individual that knows and respects my boundaries.
I know, I'm challenging, but I already have wonderful friends that accept me as I am. And now I have an amazing boyfriend. Adam may not realize, but he's everything I've asked for, and more! Mrow!
