LAWRENCE (APOLLO) LEVINE A native of South Bend, IN by way of Abbeville, LA is the hottest upcoming talent out of the Midwest. Combining his Midwest flair with a Southern soulful sound, Lawrence is blowing up in the pop/R&B world. As a child of an assistant pastor, Lawrence was raised up in church singing in the choir. He took to the stage in 4th grade after his elementary school teacher asked his parents to become a part of the schools show choir which consists of mainly 5th and 6th grade students. After showing that he had what it took to seize every performing moment on and off stage he was then asked to perform on various local TV shows and community events. As he continued into middle and high school he then saw another avenue of performing. Lawrence auditioned for his first play and after being cast he knew that there was more to it than just being on stage in front of family and friends, he knew that he was beginning to fulfill his dream of being a superstar. As high school ended Lawrence found himself relocating to Raleigh, NC where he attended Shaw University. There he would find that not only did he love to sing, but he wanted to write his own music. He formed REVELATION, the university’s gospel choir and began writing all of their material. Though things were looking up as far as fulfilling his dream it would not last long. Lawrence left Shaw devastated with news of financial issues that would not allow him to finish his senior year. Instead of moving back home he stayed in Raleigh and pursued his career of acting and singing; landing role after role in musical theatre productions. Lawrence currently resides in Charlotte, NC becoming one of the premier african-american male actors in theatre and establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with on stage. His voice is compared to the like of John Legend with a pop twist. With an unusual sound if asked he will tell you that his musical influences span over just about all genres of music. He loves artist such as: Brian McKnight, Marvin Gaye. Billie Holiday, Gladys Knight, Prince, Whitney Houston, BoyzIIMen, Destiny’s Child, Aretha Franklin, Tye Tribbett, Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin, Kelly Price, Maroon 5, Queen, Lauryn Hill, OutKast, Reba McIntyre, Garth Brooks, and Jay-Z just to name a few. Lawrence also understands the importance of giving back. He will tell you that this is not just a career, but also a ministry to help encourage and inspire those who may not ever step foot inside church. He keeps God first knowing without Him his gift would not be and also thanks his parents for the support over the years.
