Says the spray-painted graffiti on the door of the run-down building. Americans have become very good at pretending not to see; this alley between multi-story shops is an abstract of garbage and grime, that corner bend near the popular pub hides a stained and shattered refuge. I see the character of it most, I think, in the graffiti; where LA graffiti is all ultra-stylized words and carefully interlocking patterns that sometimes rival the Book of Kells in their complexity, Dublin’s is much rawer and more direct. You see the occasional stylized tagging here and there —
yet another aspect of American culture making itself felt……
The arts of hairstyling, turntablism,
sampling, producing, breakdancing,
visual art, abstract art, pencil drawings,
graffiti, spoken word, beatboxing, freestyling,
and cyphering.
Twisted ideas, and intellectual minds attract me.
Also one who can manipulate teachings of philosophy and produce their own practical theories.
My other half that reminds me of how beautiful this world is. Someone that can actually handle me.
