Wasting Revolution

About Me

An archivist, a teacher, a gardener, an academic, a website designer - certainly an odd combination to compose a rock band. But despite disparate day jobs, Wasting Revolution comes together and manages to run like a well-oiled cliche.
Inspired by such diverse, if however obligatory, influences as mewithoutYou, Damien Rice, Lovedrug, Mute Math, Peter Gabriel, and The Police, Wasting Revolution manages to stand out above and beyond the host of other independent rock bands out there today. Their live show is explosive and anthemic. Their recordings are innovative and well produced without losing grit.
Formed in 2003 by long-time friends and musical partners Andrew Gena, Jason Bachman, Jordan Miller, and Scott Broody (rhythm guitar, vocals, lead guitar, and drums, respectively) under the moniker "One Term President," the band that would become Wasting Revolution set the groundwork for what has certainly developed into one of the most original rock acts to be seen or heard in the mid-Atlantic in years. Eventually adding multi-instrumentalist Brendan McGeehan and bassist Dave McLaughlin into the mix, Wasting Revolution has wowed listeners all over central and eastern Pennsylvania with their virtuostic command of their instruments and compositional complexity while nevertheless retaining an accessibility enjoyable to snobs and pop-lovers alike. Furthermore, their social consciousness - always present; never heavy-handed or preachy - lends an earnestness and urgency to their music not often found. It's as if their performance is always a matter of survival.
You can listen to selections from their 2005 effort, "The Baccalaureate EP," on their myspace page (www.myspace.com/wastingrevolution), but keep your head to the ground in anticipation of their fourthcoming EP. The guys have been in the studio working dilligently since October, 2006, and will certainly have new material available this summer.
Thanks for listening.
