Joey was born into a musical family in Queens,NY. His parents started a successful music/entertainment company over 25 years ago called STARFIRE MUSIC, which he now operates and performs in. He has gained invaluable experience through over ten years of consistent live performance and recording with several musical acts and world class musicians.
At 15 years old, he was allowed to sit in on the recording session of "The Buddy Rich Tribute Album", where for hours he watched drummers like Bill Bruford, Neil Peart, Simon Phillips and Matt Sorum record charts by Buddy Rich. This experience confirmed what Joey had felt ever since he could remember.......He was born to play music!
At 19 years old, Joey had already recorded an album with his band (The Miracle of '86) that was distributed nationally and even in parts of Europe and Canada. At the age of 20, he was touring the U.S. and Canada promoting his new record.
Joey went on to study the drums with teacher Frank Belluci, a well known and respected session and clinic drummer. Joey also went on to college to study communications, radio production, marketing and drama. He recently completed a work/study program at RCA Records in 2006 and continues to run StarFire Music. His side projects include playing the New Jersey cover band circuit with THE BOMB! and Screaming Broccolli for STARS Productions, recording with producer and master guitarist, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal of Guns & Roses, and film acting. He also plans to gear StarFire towards artist managment one day.
