I read, I watch tv, I drink beer. I smoke, too - though I'd like to quit someday.
Dave Matthews, just to give him a good snog. Also J.D. Salinger, just to biff him upside the head.
"the Irish are the blacks of Europe, the Northern Irish are the blacks of Ireland, the Dubliners are the blacks of North Ireland, and the North Dubliners are the blacks of Dublin. So say it with me lads, say it loud: I'm Black, and I'm proud."Anyway. I like all kinds of music. My very first record was Blondie's "Parallel Lines" and not too long after that, X's "More Fun in the New World".I also "discovered" Barbra Streisand's "Live Concert at the Forum" (1972) around the same time, which was a benifit raising - and I quote Barbra - "$300,000 - to hopefully elect the next president of the United States." George McGovern. He lost.Meanwhile. I have always been a fan of Janis Joplin. No one else can compare. My lovely, dear, dear friend Shamsi comes damn close though.
I can honestly say one of the greatest films I have ever seen is "the Godfather". I'm not obsessive about it, but I never get tired of seeing it.
There's a lot of crap on tv. having said that, I tend to watch a lot of crap. I tend to watch "The Office", as well as "Nip/Tuck", "My Name is Earl", and "Grey's Anatomy". These tend to rise above the crap. Oh, and have you seen "Ugly Betty" yet? It's pretty good, though I've only seen one episode.
Easy -- "Franny & Zooey".
Heroism is a funny thing. My first reaction is to say the vets who faught in WWII are certainly heroes. I started feeling this way after my first viewing of "Band of Brothers". Curahee!
