PMS'ing Superhero of the Universe

About Me

Rekha: Steady diet of bad church music and shrill Hindi film music growing up. Discovered Stevie Wonder in my teens and have been slowly digging myself out of my own musical shortcomings (and into new ones) ever since. The yatra is the whole point.Moved to Denver from D.C. and couldn't get a gig, so I started writing my own stuff, figuring no one could tell me I was playing the changes wrong that way. Finally got gigs, but kept writing. Continued to write at all hours, irritating my child with music in the middle of the night until I finally saved enough to buy the two things that have changed our lives: headphones and earplugs. All quiet on the Western front now.
Special notes: I can't open wine bottles, or those pop top soup cans. Sometimes (lots of times) I trip over nothing but my own imagination. I love my fuzzy boots. I like chewing gum and chew the whole pack in one day. Chocolate is good, and usually necessary. I dream a lot, and have never tasted a thing in them, except for once when I tasted a door jamb. I love my spin bike.

Potty Phone

Ah yes.  We all do it.  Don't pretend you've never been in a rush, slammed into the loo, yanked up the lid and went to town in the middle of a conversation.  Don't deny it!  I've b...

A Man Walked into a Bar ...

... and, hanging drunkenly over the piano, proceeded to make musical requests.  I tried to be polite as he assembled a couple of small bills to stack magnanimously on the music rack.  I smil...

Rainy Night in Georgia on My Mind

So why are there so many songs about Georgia? Romantic it's not. We were just at the Winn-Dixie and all the guys working there wore hairnets. It feels like you're walking through a fog of soup from...
